Q: ***Mazda 6?******?
Anyone own a new Mazda 6? If so do you like it? any problems?
A: I own one, and its a great great car. Check out www.mazda6club.com to get a LOT more information and opinions.
Q: What engines are compatible with a 2003 Mazda 6 S series it i want to install something with more power?
My mazda 6 busted out on me about 4 months ago and im finally adding up enough money to get a new engine, but the problem is i would like to install something with more torque and power, any suggestions?
A: Get the same engine, this is a sofisticated Japanese car. Installing anything else would ruin it. It certainly won't be worth the money. Do it and you'll regret it - unless your hobby is reapairing broken stuff or finding reasons why something is not working properly.
It's not like swapping engines in old cars.
Q: Tips on how to turn my Mazda 6 into a high performance tuner?
I want to make my V4 Mazda 6 run and sound like a high performance tuner. Im pretty much happy with the outside appearance of it. Right now a turbo kit and a different exhaust sounds good but i dont really know what im doing so help please? Any ideas are appreciated.
A: Turn it into a mazdaspeed6. You can have a dealer install mazdaspeed upgrades and keep it under warranty. http://www.mazdausa.com/MusaWeb/displayPage.action?pageParameter=mazdaSpeedAccessories
Has all the details on what that would include. If you want to save money and dont care about the warranty then just do an aftermarket turbo, air filter, intake and exhaust, flywheel, and depending on how serious you are nitrous, lightweight rims, a body kit, or convert body to carbon fiber (hood, trunk, fenders, doors, body kit) that would drop your weight dramatically. Any car can be modified to do 10s 1/4 but its how much that car costs to get there.
Q: How do I fit a dog guard to my Mazda 6 Zugara?
I recently bought a Mazda 6 dog guard on ebay but it arrived with nothing but the dog guard and 4 screws. I can't see any screw holes in the car? Is there any advice which might help me?
No instructions came with the guard
Also there was no manufacturer mark on it. I was assuming it was Mazda's own make
A: Contact the seller on ebay about possible install instructions.
If that doesnt work, check the previous buyers to see how they installed it.
Q: How can i tow a car using my mazda 6?
This is the first time i am trying to tow anything using my mazda 6. I am trying to tow a scion TC with my car and don't know exactly what i need and should do to tow the scion with my car safely without hurting my mazda or the scion. Can someone please tell me exactly how i need to do this and what i need (meaning provide links and prices and etc...). I dont know anything about towing using my car, so please give me step by step instructions. Please guys help me.
I wanna tow the car myself and dont want to spend a lot of money, and i dont have any towing equipment as well, so i need to buy/rent the equipment, so please tell me where i can rent/buy the equipment for cheap.
A: Probably better to have a tow truck come and get it---towing a disabled car is tricky and can be dangerous. Basically, you buy a tow strap or chain long enough to give you 15-20 feet between the two vehicles, hook it up to the frame slots of each vehicle and setup a signal between the two drivers like waving an arm down to stop and up to go---the towed vehicle will have to do the braking for both vehicles when coming to a stop which if the towed vehicle does not run is very hard, if not impossible to do especially with power brakes not working and you must leave plenty of distance to stop as you can't stop quickly---- make sure to have the hazard flashers going on both vehicles---take it very slow and use side streets or roads if possible.
As i said, very tricky and may be best left to a tow truck or mobile mechanic to fix the vehicle.

Q: Is the black version of the newer Mazda 6 still Onyx Black?
I have noticed that the newer Mazda 6 black is shinier than the old Mazda 6 (e.g. 2003). So what do you call that color black. The old black is Onyx black which is what i currently have but i want the shinier one. And dont say it just looks like that because the paint is fresher.
A: It's still Onyx Black. And obviouslly new and how you clean your car does play a part in how the car looks. As well as where you live. Acid rain areas tend to eat the clear away quicker. But The Black is different though. After the first couple of years we started using heavier metallic which is now standard in all of our paints. Onyx isn't very strong to preserve the richness but we just came out with Sparkling Black which is Heavy Metalic like the Pearl paints. But get your car detailed and you will be amazed out how much shinier you car will look. I sold a silver 2003 last night that looked nothing like the new ones but when I had it detailed it was Brand New again. Until that crap wears off.

Q: What car is better a 2003 Chevy Impala or a 2003-2006 Mazda 6?
I have a 2003 Chevy Impala that i started to invest money into it. i added a muffler and i put tinted windows. i was planning on buying some performance parts to put into it, but i went to a dealer today and i went to help my brother choose his first car and i saw the Mazda 6. and now i kinda want that car, but i wanna make sure im making a good decision. Should i keep the impala and keep fixing it up or should i get the Mazda 6 instead???? help me out please.
A: These two cars are not in the same class. It's not fair to compare them. However, to answer your question.
The impala has a base price of almost $7,000 more than the mazda 6 (I am comparing the 2003 Chevy Impala LS to the 2003 Mazda 6i)
The impala, (6 cylinder) has 200Hp, on a 3.8L engine that gets 19/29 [official specs] vs the Mazda's 4 cylinder, 160 HP, 2.3L @ 25/32
However, the 200HP of the impala is reached @ 5200RPM, whereas the 160HP of the mazda takes - 6000 rpm - to reach that, so, realistically, since people drive in between the 2000-4000 rpm mode, you're looking at ~160 hp / ~110 hp respectively.
The impala has 225 lb-ft of torque (@ 4000rpm) vs the mazda's 155 lb-ft of torque (@ 4000 rpm)
This means, even though it's heavier, The impala will be a better performer.
The mazda does have a slightly better warranty, of 3 yr/50K miles.
The impala is 500 lbs heavier, 5 inches longer wheelbase, 15 inches longer overall, slightly wider, and taller, than the mazda 6. It has more trunk room, more cabin room, and a better turning radius (go figure.. longer, bigger car, turns better. :-] )
I'd say, since you already OWN the impala, and haven't gotten over the depreciation hump yet (and, may still have payments on it) AND the fact that you've "upgraded it" you should keep the impala.
The depreciation hump I speak of is where you have lost more in depreciation than the car is currently worth. You are "upside down" on the car [this is true of all cars] and it usually means - 5 - years. Before "getting your use" out of the car surpasses what you've actually spent on it.
I personally keep cars until I kill them.
My rule for my stable of cars, unfortunately, means I own more than 1. I have a 1993 jeep grand cherokee, i have a viper, i have a jetta (2003 TDI, diesel), and a 2001 sienna. I haven't been able to kill them yet.
Q: Can someone tell me how much oil is needed when changing the oil on a 03 mazda 6 - V6 engine?

Q: How to change brake pads on a 2003 mazda 6?
I just recently bought a 2003 Mazda 6 with 25,000 mile on it. I notice that there is a slight sqeeke when I break and would like to change the pads now before they wear the rotor. I first thought about going to the shop but the idea of spending $150.00 per axal is appalling (especial when you consider that a set of pads for the front and another for the back only cost a total of $40.00). I also own a 1997 Mazda 626 and have done the front brakes on it a number of times. What I needed to know is is there any difference between changing the brakes on the old one versus the new one. Are there any special tools I need? Are there any free online resources for repair and maintanance? I tried to find a Chiltons or a Haynes at my local auto store but they don't have one for a Mazda 6. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Also I plan on doing the brakes today so that I may take a road trip this weekend. Thanks
