Q: nissan altima?
I'm thinking of buying a 95 nissan altima 'se' version, fully loaded. What do you guys think of this car? Also does anyone know if these cars come with abs brakes?

A: yes it comes with ABS if it's the SE model

Q: How to remove Nissan Altima GXE 1993 dashboard?
I have Nissan Altima GXE '93 and I need to remove the dashboard to fix the dashboard light. How do I remove it? I bought a manual from kragen but the model the book used is not the same model as my car so the book didn't help me. Information and tips are greatly appreciated. Thanks!

A: should be a couple of screws under the dash pad to remove and then it is simple from there.

Q: How do you take out a Nissan Altima Radio?
I have a 2005 Nissan Altima and want to put a radio signal booster in the antenna line. My problem is how do I get to the back of the unit?

A: I would go to Best Buy or the dealer and ask them to do it for you that way you won't screw it up.

Q: Why does my 1993 Nissan Altima speedometer goes back and forth?
I have a 1993 Nissan Altima. When I start the vehicle, the speedometer starts slowly going up, even while I am still in park position. Even at drive, it still goes up slowly. After hitting 100-120 mph mark, it then slowly goes back down again, no matter if I am in park, reverse, or drive. But it does not slowly goes back to 0 mark. It went back to 40 mph mark, and goes back up again. Strange?! Any help is appreciated.

A: First year production Altima. Many times the electronic spedometer starts to fail and will cost almost $250. If you haven't estimated speed in drive to tachometer RPMS do so. Speed sensor#2 (instrument cluster) may also set a check engine light because the transmission uses speed sensor signal. Nissan has a large selection of new Altimas come into the next Century!

Q: Getting a Nissan Altima Coupe 3.5 SE. What are some things I can add to make my car look better?
Im getting the Nissan Altima Coupe 3.5 SE next week. i know the car is pretty loaded but there are a lot of stuff I'm sue I can do to it to make it perform better and look better. There are some things I'm going to do like add a spoiler, Tint the windows, and lower it, but any other additional suggestions would be awesome even if there little suggestions. Anything is appreciated and welcome!

A: What year? And please god don't get a spoiler that's gay. I'm answering this as passive aggressiveness for my own satisfaction against my ex. These were things he did to any car he got. Get the mudflaps if any off, along with the pinstriping if you have it and dealership logos, leave the Nissan maybe but pop off the word Altima. Then hopefully you can find someone who knows how to wetsand and buff. You can take off your wiperblades on good weather days, most people can't put their finger on why it looks cleaner but the blades are missing. What else, nice looking exhaust pipe. Change your interior shift knob, you can take out the black plasic that covers the gauge cluster and paint it whatever color and put it back in - it'll make the whole cluster look aftermarket though it's not. I don't know how he got it out from behind the clear piece...you'd have to figure that out I think he slid it out somehow from behind without removing the clear part. The biggest advice though is make it look clean with clean lines. Make sure the spoiler fits the lines of that body style...please. Lower it nice on some 17's; 18's or bigger just look awful on a coupe. Tuck em, no wells left. If you lower it but don't have rims yet, roll 'dirty' so it looks like you're between your sets. lol. Good luck.

Q: Why does my Nissan Altima sputters when I sit at a long traffic light?
My 2001 Nissan Altima, sputters when I sit at a long traffic light. I have had the throttle body clean, the air/fuel filter replace and a tune up. One thing mentioned was that my car should use NDK spark plugs, but I do not have them. My car never stalls, it only sputters. But when the air conditioner is on the car idle is smooth. Any ideas? Thanks!

A: I know that my truck stutters when i use cheap gas. Maybe that might help.

Q: Where can i send a 1999 Nissan Altima for servicing?
A friend of mine has just bought a used 1999 Nissan altima with 120,000 miles on it. What kind of servicing needs to be done for this car? What kind of a place would handle that?

A: Did it come with reccords, or has it been maintained properly. It should already of had timming belt, trans flush, and radiator flush. If you can get it on a lift and see how the cv joints and the trans axel boots look(check for holes in the boot)Check the filters and simple things help too. Chances are if it was taken care of it should be in pretty good shape. Hopefully it wasnt a northern vehicle(salt sucks)

Q: Why does my 1997 nissan altima make a squealing noise?
I own a 1997 nissan altima with over 100k miles. A loud squealing noise comes from the front wheels. It is especially loud at slow speeds and barely noticable at higher speeds. I don't think it's the rotors because it makes the noise when I'm not applying the breaks at all. The car is parked for extended periods of time (two to four months) while I am away at school. What could be causing this noise?

A: Front Wheel bearings or the Constant velocity joints on the front drive shafts. Those are the most likely, but without actually seeing it or hearing the noise for myself its very hard to diagnose. If it is the wheel bearing you should get them checked out as soon as, you don't want to be overtaken by your wheel on the motor way!

Q: Is it worth the money to keep a 2002 Nissan Altima body and change the engine and transmisson?
I want to buy a used Nissan Altima 2002 which has over 150,000 miles. Then I’ll change the engine and transmission to make it newer. Is it worth the money and time to change the engine and transmission? Or I should just buy a new or used Altima without doing any mechanic work?

A: You sounds like you want to give yourself a headache. Me, I might replace my wifes corolla's engine and because I have to and not because I want to. It has 150,000 miles too and I feel it start to burn oil. The car is still under observation. If it fails the smog. That is the time I will fixed the problem. If you really like the body of Altima then go ahead. But that is a lot of money. I will give you this website to get a good deal. good luck. http://car-part.com/

Q: Who knows where to get a cheap 96 nissan altima gxe engine from?
I recently purchased a 96 nissan altima gxe for $75. The woman i bought it from said it would've cost her $700. But i need to know where i can get a relatively low miledged engine from. My dad will be installing it.

A: id check around at some of the salvage yards for one they may have a low mileage one to fit it,if not they will probably know where you can get one for it at,they stay in touch with a lot of other places that sell engines also,i did this with a 91 Toyota and found a real nice engine for around 600 bucks with only 70 thousand miles on it,you may not find on right away but you will eventually find one for it,good luck with it.

Q: How do you turn off the check engine light on a '02 nissan altima?
I have a '02 Nissan Altima with the check engine light stuck on and have already pulled the code out for low emissions leak. I just need to reset the thing without having to pay someone else an arm and a leg, and a couple of kids to have them take 5 minutes and viola. I know there's got to be an easy way to fix this. Please help!

A: You can turn the check engine light off with an OBD2 code reader that has a code erase button on it, but the light will come back on unless the cause of the problem is repaired.

Q: How to remove the speaker grills of a 2005 nissan altima?
I am trying to remove the grills from the speakers of my 2005 nissan altima without the bose system. I took off the speakers from the bottom. The grills are very difficult to remove. Does anyone know how to remove them. The top of the grill does not come off, seems to be one big plastic piece. Thanks

A: It may be worth asking other owners on a nissan Altima forum. there usually free and offer great advice on your any car. http://www.altimaforums.net/forums/index.html http://www.nissanclub.com/ a couple of a search engine for you.

Q: What is the best sub and audio system you recomended for a nissan altima 2002?
I just got a nissan altima 2002 and i want to install an audio system,a sub, and speaker that i could blast my music? What is you guys best advices for me?

A: http://spkrbox1.spaces.msn.com/Default.aspx for real "sound" advice. Your system won't mean squat without a well designed box to put your subs in. Some manufacturers have recommendations as to dimensions of various types of boxes. It is best to find someone who builds boxes if you go with something other than a sealed box. You should always match up RMS (Root Mean Square) watts of Subs and amp per channel as well as impedance's(resistances). If your amp is rated at 4Ω don't subject it to 2Ω, it will fry. Here is the formula for subs in parallel: Z = 1 / (1/sub1 + 1/sub2 + 1/sub3 + ....) For series, just add them up (sub1 + sub2 + ...). You can mix and match these equations to get the right impedance required by your amp. Example: 4 subs @ 4Ω each. If I connect two in parallel and the other two in parallel and tie the two pairs in series, I would have a total impedance(resistance) of 4Ω. So to the amp, it's just one sub. You should use a capacitor as well. Recommend for every 500 watts MAX you use a .5 Farad cap Example: 1000 watts MAX - 1 Farad cap Try http://www.soundomain.com/shop you can find some really good deals, and this site is manufacturer certified. VERY IMPORTANT WHEN SHOPPING ON-LINE!!! You will also need what's called a "line level converter" if your stock head unit doesn't have RCA outputs or your amp doesn't have high-level inputs. If you like I can send you some plans for reference. My plans are for a 4-th order band pass bass box that holds two 12's. Also included are java calculators you can use to figure parallel and series values given Ω values. Just e-mail me sparky3489@yahoo.com My system Blaupunkt TSw1200 subs with a Sony Xplōd XM2200GTX. My amp is 1200 watts, subs are 600 watts each, cap is 1.2 Farad SPL is about 112 db Total cost(so far) = $410
