Q: Nissan Maxima?
Do you think they will ever make a Nissan Maxima hybrid version? The Maxima's my favorite car, but I always preferred cars with high city/highway mileage.
A: they will not. first of all it uses the 2.5 engine not the 3.5 like the maxima.. you will probably see a hydrogen car before any other nissan hybrids.. the whole hybrid system is a toyota system. i was told by nissan "higher up" that government basically forced them to sell somesort of hybrid hence toyota powerplant
Q: Can a 2007 Nissan Maxima be outfitted with remote start even though it has the smart key?
I have a 2007 Nissan Maxima and I wanted remote start but I'm not sure if it can be put in because I have the smart key. Any help?
A: Personally I'd check with the/a dealership part/mantience dept....we once went to an independent to install one and a few months later had issues with starting, alarm.... just to name a few..... we just ended up disconnecting the remote
hope this answer helps :)
Q: What are the steps to change a timing belt on a 2002 Nissan Maxima?
How difficult is it to change the timing belt on a 2002 Nissan maxima? What tools and steps do I need to take? Can a guy with basic tool and automechanics skills do it or does it need to go to the nissan shop?
A: No steps, no timing belt. The Max like all late-model Nissan's uses a Timing Chain, not a belt which never has to be serviced.
Q: How much will the new 2009 Nissan Maxima be?
They don't have information on the Nissan website yet so I was just wondering if anyone has heard any rumors. Nissan says they are going to release them in June 2008 which is next month but I just want to know all the information available now. I have always been a fan of the Maxima and LOVE the new model. I plan to buy one but want to know how much they are going to cost. I assume they will be more expensive than the 2008 model. Any information is appreciated. Thanks!
A: Maxima moves more up scale so prices will move also. Inflation is happening so the sooner you purchase one the better. But how are we going to put in $5 a gallon gasoline? remember Maxima uses premium fuel. nissanUSA.com
Q: Can a missing EVAP canister purge control solenoid valve affect how well my 98 Nissan Maxima starts?
My 98 Nissan Maxima has been giving me trouble starting. If it's the first time I use it in the day, the engine takes quite awhile to turn.
I know the EVAP canister purge control solenoid valve of my Nissan needs to be replaced, but my mechanic says that that part should have nothing to do with how well my car starts. Could this be the reason for the poor starting or should I keep looking?
A: Question of the day is why dose the valve need replacing? The last Nissan I needed to replace that valve on , was plugged up with carbon from a bad charcoal canister. It was sucking charcoal into the motor , not a good thing. If the valve is stuck open , at best you will have a vacuum leak , at worst , you will be sucking fumes from the tank all the time. Have your guy check a little closer. By the way, the dealer had new canisters and control valves on the shelf. That should tell you something. If all else is correct it may be part of your start problem
Q: what is the difference between nissan maxima and altima ?
I been doing some research on the nissan Maxima and Altima and they both look the same to me the Maxima just is more expensive can someone please tell me the difference and can someone please suggest one for a 19 yr. old first time driver that when I gradauate from highschool and which one would be better for a college student the altima or maxima thanks for the answers in advance.
A: The Maxima and Altima are built on the same platform and while they look very similar, they are designed to suit different kinds of customers.
The Altima is built more for young families and teens/college students. The Maxima is slightly larger, has better performance, and is built more for adults who want a cross between a sports car and a sedan.
I would recommend the Altima for you.
Q: Where is the neutral safety switch located on a nissan maxima?
I have a 1993 Nissan Maxima that sometimes wont start unless shifted into neutral and slammed into park. I had a friend check it and they said I need to replace the neutral safety switch. I now have the part but dont know where to find it on the car. Please help. I read the chiltons manual and it has a picture but cant tell if it is inside the shifter or on top or motor or underneath.
A: Usually where the shifter is, you would need to remove the rubber boot around it. That is if the shifter is located between the two front seats next to your right leg.

The code reader says cylinder 5 is misfiring.
How do I locate cylinder 5?

Thanks!

Q: How often should one have a transmission flush on a Nissan Maxima?
I have a 2003 Nissan Maxima with 41000 KMS on it. The last time I took it in for service I was told that the car is due for a transmission flush.
A: A tranny flush can wait til 100,000 miles, IF, the fluid on the stick is still that healthy pink color (not dark) and doesn't have the tell-tale burnt smell to it. I'm guessing that Nissan recommends a flush at somewhere around 60,000. They recommend this because they have to consider their cars that end up in hot climates, or driving on steep roads as with mountain communities. Those things will take a heavy tole on trannies and the fluid. But regular driving that doesn't involve those stresses can prolong a tranny flush until 90 to 100,000 miles.
Q: What is the song in the commercial for the new Nissan Maxima?
The commercial for the new 2009 Nissan Maxima has a really catchy song playing in the background, which sounds kind of old school. Does anyone know what it is? The commercial shows 2 Maximas (white & black) coming together to make 1.
A: i believe it is
join together - the who
actually im pretty sure.
Q: How much would Insurance for a 1997 nissan maxima be for a 17year old in NY?
Ys i sm turning 17 in a month and i just wanted to know if any1 know how much it would be for a 17 year old to have insurance on a 1997 nissan maxima. my mom had her lisence for 10 years and i got a driving school premium discount?
A: Get a Nissan Altima they're much safer.
Q: Is getting a transmission flush on a 2000 Nissan Maxima a top priority?
Is getting a transmission flush on a 2000 Nissan Maxima a top priority?
A: Do not get the flush. Get the transmission service which is the same price - About $100. That's where they drop the pan and change the filter. That is all you need for the next 30,000 miles. This also changes more than half the fluid in the transmission.
A question for you... Are you having troubles with your transmission? You can check the condition of the fluid by pulling the dipstick which is red at the handle. The condition of the fluid should be red and not dripping like water because transmission fluid wears down and gets thinner and doesn't lubricate as well. Also, make sure the level is right. I have a '95, same drivetrain and the level was a little higher than it was supposed to be. If you don't know how to check the level, read your manual or get someone else to make sure it is right.
If you're getting this vehicle used, get the drop pan service. It certainly won't hurt anything and if you have had this vehicle for more than 30,000 miles, it's recomended maintenance.
Make sure the correct fluid is used also - Dexron-III
